Brown Bag Charcuterie: when homemade tastes best!
Visit our store to purchase your spot!
What’s in your lunch bag? And in your kids’ lunch box?
How about some homemade bologna, smooth liverwurst or sweet ham that you made yourself?
Not all charcuterie is fancy or has a French name. In fact, the first charcuterie I ever had was good old Oscar Meyer Bologna on white bread with French’s mustard. Everyday for school. After avoiding all plastic wrapped luncheon meat for years, I recently realized that not only could I make the stuff, I could make it better! And now so can you.
This is the first in a series of Grrls Meat Camp Workshops & Meat-Ups. Join Kate Hill, CEO of Grrls Meat Camp, Inc., for a morning of easy-to-make, homemade luncheon meats with my three favorite easy recipes: Bologna, Liverwurst, and Salt & Pepper Ham. No special equipment is needed as we use just the everyday things that are in your kitchen and we cook it in the oven or on top of the stove. You’ll understand which meats to buy, how to get that texture you like- smooth to chunky, and how to use natural coloring and flavors to replace nitrates and chemical additives. Learn to make the food you like to eat- at home.
9:30-2:00: 4 hours instruction plus a Brown Bag Lunch, of course! Earn your Brown Bag Charcuterie Badge!
$75 (this workshop is underwritten by our sponsors and Grrls Meat Camp) Date, Time, Location TBD
